Frequently Asked Questions
What kinds of needs or impairments do you work with?
Speech-Language Pathologists work with patients of all ages who have delays or disorders of speech, language, voice, hearing, cognition, social-cognition, and swallowing. We work with patients with needs in each of these areas and we also specialize working with social cognition, behavioral, and executive function skills.
How often do patients have sessions?
Session frequency is determined by individual patient needs. All therapy sessions are 30 minutes in length and most patients have 1-2 sessions per week, depending on their needs as determined by the clinician. Sessions are the same day and time each week.
Do you accept insurance?
We have a fee for service delivery model. Patients pay for services rendered through our patient portal and are then provided with forms to submit to their medical insurance for reimbursement. Speech-language pathology services are categorized as medical (not mental health) services and most insurance companies provide reimbursement for a portion of services. If you would like more information about how to determine if your medical insurance company will reimburse for our services, please contact us and we will guide you through the process.
Are you a provider for the Florida Step Up for Students (previously Gardiner) scholarship?
Yes, Achievement Therapy Services is a registered provider with the Step Up for Students scholarship. We can directly submit payment requests on behalf of the patient. Please contact our office for more information.
